Even in his death, Maradona hurts “Great” Britain

A photo of the late legend, Diego Armando Maradona, took over the cover of British magazine, “The Sun”, in its issue today, Thursday, 26 November 2020.

The following appeared on the cover:
“Maradona dead at 60… England’s world cup nemesis & one of the all-time greats… in the hands of God.”

The last phrase is a play on Maradona’s most famous title, “the hand of God”, which he snatched by grabbing the famous goal with his hand, which threw Britain outside the World Cup.

In this sense, the title is a disrespectful reveling, even gloating about Maradona’s death, who may be one of the rare figures in history, the love for whom the greater part of humanity united. There is no great secret in that: the man is spontaneous, sincere, and principled in his sympathizing with the poor and siding with causes of justice. It was not at all strange that he was loved this much.

It is also not strange based on the morals of the “Empire on which the Sun never sets”, that what still remains of its “Sun” is this magazine that is full of hatred, sorrow, and gloating.
