Jamil: Moscow-Cairo delegation stresses need for accelerating Intra-Syrian Talks

 Member of Moscow-Cairo delegation for Geneva Intra-Syrian Talks, Kadri Jamil, said, May 16, 2016, that the group is to discuss accelerating these talks in their meeting later today in Vienna with the Russian Foreign Minister, Sergey Lavarov, at the eve of tomorrow’s ISSG meeting.

Prior to his meeting with Lavarov,  Jamil told Russian Interfax news agency “ we will meet today with Mr. Lavarov. As representatives of Moscow Platform, we will discuss accelerating Geneva process. The ongoing (Syrain) conflict is causing Syria huge loses in lives and properties. It’s in the interests of the Syrian people, and of ours, to put an end to this nightmare, as soon as possible. This can only be realized through the political process”.

Jamil indicated that Geneva Intra-Syrian Talks are for sure to be resumed in this May.

The Russian Foreign Minister held a meeting , 16:30, Vienna local time, with the representatives of Moscow- Istana platforms, Kadri Jamil and Randa Kasis, along with a representative of the Kurds  to deal with the latest developments in the Syrian scene, Geneva peace talks, in particular.
