Kassioun Editorial 1198: Bringing an End to the War and to Those Who Started It!

In the two world wars, especially before WWII, the revolutionaries’ main slogan was “overthrowing the warmongers”. They were only able to achieve this slogan through war itself, by overthrowing Nazism and overthrowing the programs of its supporters and allies within the Western centers, especially the financial centers.

After the emergence of nuclear weapons and the deepening of the capitalist crisis at all levels, three major issues emerged:

First: Capitalism is no longer able to use war in its old direct forms, with all that it encompasses in terms of comprehensive destruction for all sides. Therefore, it relies on hybrid wars in various arenas around the globe, which together perform the function of a comprehensive war.

Second: Confronting capitalist war has become based primarily on the asymmetrical act of resistance, the act of attrition, and the act of “boiling the Western frog”.

Third: The size and depth of the crisis did not leave humanity the luxury of choosing to bring down the warmongers within the wars themselves. Meanwhile, the wars that capitalism is pushing towards have become an existential threat to all of humanity. The only available option is to bring down the warmongers and bringing an end to the wars themselves before they even start. That is, before moving to major, comprehensive wars. In a word: bringing an end to the war and its instigators through a comprehensive process of attrition whose implicit and explicit slogan is “unity of arenas”, not only in our region, but in the entire world. This is what is actually happening at full speed.

The comprehensive attrition process continues and escalates on all fronts, and in all parts of the planet, starting with Gaza and Lebanon, where the “Americans/Israelis” are in a situation where they hardly know from which direction successive strikes are coming, and where the phrase “challenging security incident” has become a daily and semi-daily phrase, and perhaps it will be an hourly phrase in the coming days.

The comprehensive attrition process includes important steps taken by BRICS regarding the unified payment system, exchange in local currencies, and linking banks away from the Western-dominated SWIFT system. All of these are additional steps in the process of ending the dollar’s global dominance, and with it, Washington’s dominance.

In our region too, under the destructive and explosive Zionist-American threat, favorable objective conditions are being created to resolve long-term complex problems and conflicts, including the Kurdish issue. This is evident from clear political signals during the past few days, within the framework of defusing the American-Zionist explosives in our region.

In parallel, the need to seize the historic opportunity to prevent the exploitation of Syria’s current situation as a weak spot is growing stronger. This necessarily requires, as the last Kassioun editorial indicated, work on three parallel levels: by the Astana tripartite, headed by Russia, within the framework of active defense of Syria against the Zionist entity and American sabotage; by the patriotic political forces towards activating and implementing the comprehensive political solution in accordance with UNSC Resolution 2254, including achieving the Syrian-Turkish settlement; and by the popular forces towards pressuring to achieve these goals and preparing to defend the country and its unity.

Bringing an end to wars and bringing down those who start them is not only possible, but it is the only option available to humanity to end its long night under the most brutal socioeconomic system in history: the global capitalist system. It is also the indispensable path towards a new future and a new world.
