Kassioun Editorial 1272: The Right Positioning After the Iran War

The dual American / “Israeli” aggression against Iran constitutes the most prominent event on the global stage this century. It may even surpass the Ukrainian event in terms of the significance of its final outcomes—especially considering that both events are two stages within a single, integrated process whose essence is the end of the old international balance, the decline of American hegemony, and the birth of a new world whose emerging features are rapidly taking shape before our eyes.

Kassioun Editorial 1270: After the War on Iran!

Today, Sunday, March 22, marks the 23rd day of the “Israeli”/American war against Iran, which began as a blitzkrieg aimed at destroying Iran and its regime, ultimately leading to the fragmentation of Iran as part of the “Greater Israel project”. It has since turned into a war of attrition, quicksand, and a dangerous quagmire in which the aggressor powers—and with them the entire global economy—are sinking.

Kassioun Editorial 1269: Why A National Unity Government?

Kassioun’s last editorial pointed to the necessity of dealing with the accumulated and emerging conditions that define the current Syrian situation—domestically, regionally, and internationally—through urgent and emergency measures. This comes as various crises intensify and risk erupting, amid an ongoing war whose end is unclear. What is clear, however, is that its consequences will be significant for the world, the region, and implicitly our country, regardless of the outcomes or the timeframe in which it ends.

Kassioun Editorial 1268: There Are Solutions, But…!

Our region is experiencing a state of severe turmoil at various levels, amid the “Israeli”-American war against Iran. It faces open-ended possibilities, all of which share one common element: the scale of dangers and crises for our country is growing and intensifying significantly—especially with the open “Israeli” discourse about working to make Syria the first example of implementing “Greater Israel”, by dividing it, destroying it, and turning it into “warring tribes and clans” enslaved by Zionism.

Kassioun Editorial 1267: A New Round and the American Retreat Will Deepen

Both “Israel” and the US began a new round of aggression against Iran on Saturday, 28 February 2026, about eight months after the end of the first round of aggression, which has come to be known as the “12-Day War”. As was the case the first time, the aggression was launched amid ongoing negotiations—indeed, just one day after the Omani mediator announced that significant progress had been made—once again making clear that neither the American nor the “Israeli” side can ever be trusted, and that nothing can be expected from them but destruction and chaos.

Kassioun Editorial 1264: Besiege Your Siege… Encircle the Ring

Our region as a whole is living in a state of anticipation over the possibility of a new American–“Israeli” war against Iran, because such a war would inevitably affect all the countries and peoples of the region, whatever its outcomes might be.

Kassioun Editorial 1257: Trump and Netanyahu Will Both Be Gone… Golan is Syrian, and Will Remain So!

Last Thursday, December 19, while celebrating “Hanukkah” at the White House, Trump made a number of statements regarding the occupied Syrian Golan, boasting that he had “given it to Israel”, describing it as land rich enough to be worth trillions of dollars. In doing so, he reminded everyone of the decision he took during his first term—specifically on March 25, 2019—when he signed a US presidential decree recognizing “full Israeli sovereignty over the Syrian Golan Heights”.

Kassioun Editorial 1256: The Opportunity Exists; Its Key is Internal!

Despite the great efforts to create a festive atmosphere around the current Syrian situation, it seems – according to the popular saying – like “sprinkling sugar on death”. The facts are clear and stark about the depth of the accumulated and worsening tragedy. Starting with the general political situation, in which Syria is still a set of regions governed by different authorities and in which multiple economic spaces prevail, and the catastrophic economic conditions and liberal measures and orientations hostile to the interests of more than 90% of Syrians and are consistent with the IMF and the World Bank formulas, and not ending with the security situation, which is becoming more dangerous day after day, due to destructive foreign interventions, especially “Israeli”, and due to the rise in the level of sectarian incitement and the absence of real political participation, and even the clear attempts to contain the political movement of the people once again.

Kassioun Editorial 1248: Trusting the Americans, An Illusion and Grasping at Wind!

The past ten months — specifically after the transitional president Ahmad Al-Shar’a’s visit to Russia on Wednesday, October 15 — make it possible to objectively assess of the American role in Syria. Despite the “sweet talk” and repeated promises, US policy toward Syria has been clearly working against Syrian interests, and there has been no genuine intent among American decision-makers to give Syria a serious chance to get out of the quagmire in which the Americans themselves were openly a party to creating.
