Kassioun Editorial 1237: What Comes After the Moscow Visit?

The visit of the Syrian foreign and defense ministers to Moscow on Thursday, July 31, and their meeting with the Russian foreign and defense ministers, followed by the Syrian foreign minister’s meeting with the Russian president, marked a significant turning point in the course of events in Syria following Assad’s flight. It could even be said that it was an unexpected surprise for many.

Kassioun Editorial 1235: What Comes After the Events in Sweida?

The fire raging in the Syrian province of Sweida has subsided, after its flames had burned the hearts of all Syrians, leaving behind more blood, pain, and tragedies. Although this fire has subsided, it has not yet been completely extinguished; like the fires lurking under the ashes throughout the country, as a result of problems and crises accumulated over decades, especially during the past 14 years, none of which have yet been addressed in a wise, serious, genuine, and responsible manner.

Kassioun Editorial 1225: Syrian Cohesion and the Destructive Zionist Role

Over the past 14 years, based on the state of war and total chaos, “Israel” has been able to achieve widespread penetration and infiltration within the ranks of a large number of Syrian sides, through active and dormant cells that carry out multiple tasks ranging from monitoring and gathering information, to spreading rumors and sectarian and nationalist incitement (including via social media). The tasks also include direct tangible roles that involve assassinations, killings, and sabotage operations, not to mention the overt military role of the Zionist entity’s army, and the overt political role calling for partitioning and ending Syria altogether.

Kassioun Editorial 1219: The Security Council Statement; What Must We Do?

It has been 10 days since the UN Security Council issued its statement on Syria on March 14. This statement came after closed-door deliberations in response to a joint Russian-American invitation, due to the dangerous situation facing Syria, with waves of rebellion, violence, and massacres taking place in Syria’s coastal area.

Kassioun Editorial 1211: Our Civil Peace and Our Unity are Entrusted to All of Us

“A few days after Bashar al-Assad fled, attempts began to blow up civil peace in several places in Syria.  The warlords of the last war, in their different forms, contributed to these attempts. There are certainly external hands, atop of which are the Zionist, trying to push things towards bloodshed. So far, the first attempt at blowing up things has been contained, and the first factor in preventing it was Syrians’ awareness, which they acquired and paid the price for with a lot of suffering and bloodshed, and their desire to end the fighting. However, these attempts will recur…”

Kassioun Editorial 1209: Regarding Dialogue and Transition

The date of the national dialogue conference was announced to be postponed twice. Although this may seem negative for some, since Syrians have a great desire to launch a new phase in Syria, the title of which is Syrian people's unity and their effective involvement in rebuilding their country, nevertheless this postponement process can also carry positive signals about the conviction that the conference needs good preparation, and a wide participation and consensus among the various Syrian spectra and forces.

Kassioun Editorial 1205: The New Popular Wave Starts Now!

The struggles of the Syrian people, after nearly 14 years of continuous suffering, have achieved the first phase of victory, and complete victory is still a new wave of struggle away. The first wave, which began in March 2011, has ended. Now the new wave begins, laden with the experiences and lessons of the first wave. We still have a long way to go to complete the victory, and the Syrian people still have struggles that must be waged.

Statement from the Change and Liberation Front (The Moscow Platform for the Syrian Opposition)

Regarding the “Transitional Government”

A few hours ago, it was announced that Mr. Mohamed Al-Bashir was assigned to head a “government to manage the transitional phase”, after a meeting that included him, the “former” Prime Minister Mohamed Al-Jalali, and the commander of the “Military Operations” Ahmed Al-Sharaa (Abu Mohamed Al-Julani).

Kassioun Editorial 1204: Statement to the Syria People Towards a New Syria

Today, a dark page in the history of Syria and the Syrian people has been turned; a page in which an entire people was squeezed into its narrow margin, suffering all kinds of torment, oppression, deprivation, pain, displacement, poverty, and detention centers, while the main page was occupied by tyranny, corruption, plundering, and encroachment on people’s rights and dignity.
