Socialism is the Solution!
«America will never be a socialist country», said Donald Trump in his annual State of the Union address, in front of members of the Congress a few days ago. Not only this, but he also added: «We are alarmed by new calls to adopt socialism in our country».
The words of Trump come in two contexts: internal and external. The internal, and the most significant, context does not only, as it appears, have to do with the escalation of the tone of his rivals «outside the institution», that is: away from the chorus of Obama - Hillary, namely basically Sanders and Elizabeth Warren, who are described inside USA of having a socialist tendency. The external context has to do with the talk about Venezuela, and with the saying that its socialist policies are responsible for the state of poverty and the current crisis in that country, and, of course, not because of the siege and the suffocating sanctions that have been going on for many years by USA.
It was also of interest, the Chinese bold response to Trump's call. The Chinese Foreign Ministry condemned, from inside the UN, Trump's call to the countries of the world for confrontation with socialism and communism, saying that «every country has the right to choose the path and social model of development» and that «the peoples are the ones who have the right to decide which model is appropriate for their countries».
The attempts to interpret Trumps propositions as «electoral controversies» like those dominated the McCarthy era, are insufficient and disabled interpretations. At that period, communism was a charge that required all kinds of persecution and harassment, followed by decades of organized ideological action against socialist and communist ideas within the United States. However, the reality today is sharply different, and in the United States itself, before any other country.
The totality of the theoretical and practical propositions that have been presented in the last two decades, by the ruling establishment in USA, up to the Trump's proposals, who does not belong directly to the institution itself, yet not far from the ruling economic elite, but rather, it can be correctly said, he is closer to the huge bureaucratic institution... The overall proposals have not been able to provide serious solutions and exits from the deep and comprehensive crisis experienced by the United States at different levels, and this is evident by economic figures before anything else.
Trump's «anxiety», which has reached to a level of making him expressing it openly, is a real concern he shares even with his opponents within the institution. In other words, the president of the United States is working to unify his team with the institution as a whole, including the adversaries, around a key mission that he is formulating as follows:
Socialism must be prevented! That is, capitalism must remain, not because it has the ability to survive, but because not to be replace by socialism. Trump's warning also points to the depth of division within the ruling elite, which warns that the continuation of this division will open the door to socialism... It would not be surprising in such a context that false pretensions of socialism are being prepared to absorb the seriousness of the stage by smearing socialism itself...
The most essential aspect of Trump's proposition, and in the general task he is formulating for his country, is precisely that socialism has become an internal threat to what Trump represents, not just an external threat as it has been so far. The specter that haunted Europe since more than 150 years ago, away from US territory, has turned into a real, active, and tangible force that threatens the US ruling elite in its own house!
