Kassioun Editorial 1225: Syrian Cohesion and the Destructive Zionist Role
Over the past 14 years, based on the state of war and total chaos, “Israel” has been able to achieve widespread penetration and infiltration within the ranks of a large number of Syrian sides, through active and dormant cells that carry out multiple tasks ranging from monitoring and gathering information, to spreading rumors and sectarian and nationalist incitement (including via social media). The tasks also include direct tangible roles that involve assassinations, killings, and sabotage operations, not to mention the overt military role of the Zionist entity’s army, and the overt political role calling for partitioning and ending Syria altogether.
While all of this is clear to anyone with insight, what needs to be understood and explained is the level of “Israeli” ferocity and aggression against Syria, which can be described as a level of hysteria perhaps unprecedented in Syria’s entire modern history.
Among the factors and indicators that should be taken into consideration regarding “Israeli” behavior are the following:
First: The impact of the shift in the international balance on the Zionist entity, and its deep understanding of the historical consequences it could face with the dramatic decline in the ranks of its Western supporters, led by the Americans.
Second: The shift in the regional landscape, as one reflection of the shift in the international balance of power, has led to a form of cooperation and understanding that includes Turkey, Iran, Egypt, and the Gulf states, especially Saudi Arabia, which undermines the fundamental function of the Zionist entity in our region.
Third: A series of indications of American withdrawal, and of managing regional issues without “Israeli” veto power, and even without “voting rights” in some cases. These include, for example, but not limited to: A) Washington going into direct negotiations with the Iranians on the nuclear issue despite “Israeli” rejection; B) Washington negotiating directly with Hamas and without “Israeli” involvement; C) The US National Security Advisor is dismissed from his position on charges of cooperating with Netanyahu behind his boss’s back; D) The deepening of the level of understandings between Iran and Saudi Arabia, culminating in Iran’s request that Saudi Arabia be a partner in the nuclear agreement as a direct observer of its implementation, and in unprecedented statements by the Saudi Defense Minister in which he considered Iran a “brother, friend, and generous neighbor”, which is completely contrary to the objectives of the Abraham Accords and the myth of the “Arab NATO”; E) The partial US withdrawal from Syria, which could turn into a full withdrawal at any time in the future; F) Netanyahu, his government, and his army have failed to achieve any of the objectives of their aggression against Gaza, and the need to end this aggression growing, both from an internal “Israeli” perspective and from an American perspective.
All of these factors and indicators, and other things not mentioned here, allow for forming a clearer picture of the reasons behind the ferocity of “Israel”, which seeks to shuffle the cards, hoping to escape the forthcoming judgment and the fate imposed by international and regional balances.
Until the new balances are fully reflected, “Israel” is capable of harming our country to the point of demise and division, if we allow it to do so.
The only way out and the only way to contain Zionist brutality and prevent it from achieving its goals, is to unite the Syrians. Further, the only way to unite the Syrians is through solidarity, cooperation, and rejection of sectarianism in all its forms, and by quickly engaging in working towards a general national conference that will produce a national unity government, in a manner consistent with the realization of the Syrian people’s right to self-determination, on their single, unified, sovereign land. This represents the essence of UNSC Resolution 2254, which was and remains valid as a general roadmap for an exit from the Syrian catastrophe.
