Syrian Opposition meets Lavrentiev and Verchenin in Geneva

Representatives of Moscow Platform, the Syrian Future Movement (Tayar Al-Ghad), and the Syrian National Democratic Congress met in today's afternoon (Monday 18/06/2018) with Mr. Alexander Lavrentiev, the Russian Special Presidential Envoy for Syria, and Sergey Vershinin, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister, at the headquarter of the Permanent Mission of Russian Federation to the UN in Geneva.

 

The meeting lasted for two hours and discussed in depth the issue of forming the constitutional committee and its working mechanisms, in implementation of the decisions of the national dialogue conference in Sochi, and in line with activating the political solution to achieve the full implementation of UNSC resolution 2254.

The Russian side expressed appreciation for the constructive role played by these forces and stressed the continued strong coordination.
