Appeal to the Syrian People

The essence of the current aggressive “Israeli” behavior lies in the following points:

First: Seeking to spoil the joy of the Syrians, discourage them, frustrate them, and break their resolve, and trying to “tame” them preemptively. This is because the “Israelis” know for certain that their real enemy was and still is the peoples of the entire region, including the Syrian people who have paid dearly and preciously for decades in confronting this occupation.

Second: The “Israeli” behavior reflects its deep conviction that what happened in Syria yesterday has caused it to lose one of the “guarantees” of its security; as the previous authority exploited the national cause with rhetoric and slogans for decades, while its behavior in weakening Syria and its people on all levels was one of the best gifts that were presented to the enemy. Not to mention what can be predicted, and what history will reveal later, of under-the-table and closed-room relations.

Third: One of the most important motives for the Syrian people’s struggle against the previous authority was their rejection of injustice, humiliation, and the assault on their sovereignty, dignity, and livelihood by a brutal authority. Thus, they did not and will not accept to live in humiliation and subjugation before a criminal, hateful occupation that harbors the most intense feelings of hatred, loathing, arrogance, haughtiness, tyranny, and rancor for the Syrian people and all the peoples of the region. The “Israeli” behavior reflects its understanding of the Syrian people’s connection to their land and their concern for every inch of its soil, their concern for their dignity and sovereignty. Said behavior also reflects its understanding that the Syrian people’s hostility to the “Israeli” occupation has always been more honest and noble than all the gratuitous slogans that were thrown around by the various authorities. While the slogan of resistance has been abused through cheap exploitation for narrow personal interests, this does not mean in any way that the Syrians have lost or will lose the compass that always points toward the Golan and Jerusalem.

Dear Syrian people,

We must preserve the victory that has been achieved and still incomplete, through solidarity and mutual support among us, and by preparing people and tools – politically, economically, culturally and militarily – to prevent the Zionist serpent from biting us in the heart of our joy. We must keep in mind that one of the criteria for our judgment of any upcoming authority, whether temporary and then elected, must be a clear verbal and practical position on the “Israeli” occupation.

The international community must also take clear and practical positions in defending international law, and the UN must emerge from its state of lethargy, helplessness, and actual collusion with the Zionist entity, and play its role, otherwise it will accumulate the factors of its imminent end.

The countries that guarantee the ongoing transformations in Syria, including Turkey and Russia in particular, and those that have observation posts on the disengagement line, and we mean Russia in particular, must play their role and assume their legal responsibilities as quickly as possible, in a practical and decisive manner.

The new international balance and the major changes taking place reaffirm that the “Israelis”, along with the Americans, are heading towards a strategic loss in our region, and we as Syrians must accelerate this process and not allow the Zionists to spoil our joy and threaten the new future of our country, which is still in the process of being born.
