Bogdanov and Jamil’s Meeting Discusses Developments in Palestine and Syria
Today, Wednesday, the Special Representative of the Russian President for Middle Eastern and African Affairs, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov, met with the representative of the leadership of the Syrian Opposition Front for Change and Liberation, head of the Moscow Platform for the Syrian Opposition, and Secretary of the Popular Will Party, Dr. Kadri Jamil.
The Russian Foreign Ministry published the following press release about the meeting:
“On October 25 [2023], the Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for Middle Eastern and African Affairs, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov, received head of the leadership of the Syrian Opposition Front for Change and Liberation, and head of the Moscow Platform for the Syrian Opposition, Kadri Jamil.
During the meeting, there was talk about the dramatic development of events in the Palestinian-Israeli conflict area. Also, the meeting stressed the need to be guided by existing international resolutions, especially UNSC Resolutions 242 and 338, to assess what is happening and determine the possibilities of breaking the vicious cycle of violence”.
The Russian Foreign Ministry’s press release added that “the situation in and around Syria was discussed in detail [during the meeting] in the context of efforts aimed at reaching a comprehensive settlement on the basis of UNSC Resolution 2254 and preserving the sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity of the Syrian Arab Republic”.
