Russian Foreign Ministry published a press release today, 6 April 6, 2024, On the meeting of the Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for the Middle East and African Countries, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia M.L. Bogdanov with the representative of the leadership of the Syrian opposition Front for Change and Liberation, the head of Moscow Platform of the Syrian opposition, secretary of People's Will Party, dr. Kadri Jamil. Below is teh text of the press release:

 

On April 9, the Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for the Middle East and African Countries, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia M.L. Bogdanov received the representative of the leadership of the Syrian opposition Front for Change and Liberation, the head of the “Moscow Platform” of the Syrian opposition, Qadri Jamil.
During the conversation, an in-depth exchange of views took place on the development of the situation in Syria and around it, including in light of the recent Israeli Air Force strike on the Iranian Consulate building in Damascus, which carries the risk of extremely dangerous consequences throughout the entire Middle East region.
The issue of promoting a political settlement in the Syrian Arab Republic based on UN Security Council Resolution 2254 was also discussed, including the importance of the urgent resumption of meetings of the Inter-Syrian Constitutional Committee.
