Jamil stresses ceasefire applies to Aleppo too

The ceasefire in Syria will apply not only to Damascus and Latakia but also to Aleppo, one of the leaders of the Syrian opposition Change and Liberation Front, representative of the opposition "Moscow platform" (part of the Moscow-Cairo group) Kadri Jamil said on Friday, 29.04.2016.

"[It applies to] Aleppo as well," he said answering a question on the issue. "This is the first step toward returning to the truce. That’s why it is very important’, Dr. Jamil, said at a press conference at the Rossiya Segodnya International News Agency.
"I think there is a conspiracy against the truce. This conspiracy began with the start of the last round of the Geneva talks. The Riyadh group’s withdrawal from the negotiations is one of the stages of this conspiracy," Jamil said, adding: "There is a clear scenario aiming to obstruct the Geneva peace process, to undermine it and to prevent the Syrian people from achieving aspirations tied to the process," and he concentrate on that forces favoring escalation are both local and regional, as well as global.
"I think, however, that there is enough international will and the Syrian people’s will to continue the truce and achieve a political negotiation process," he said.
He added that "Russia is the only country that has the ability to influence all the sides at the Syrian peace talks".
As Jamil confirmed that the Russian envoy to the United Nations in Geneva, Alexey Borodavkin, has made proposals to all the delegations participating in the Geneva peace talks on ways to reconcile their positions, He added that the "Change and Liberation Front supports the suggestions and has expressed its willingness to implement them".
