Kassioun Editorial 1058: Beyond Ukraine
The tense situation these days in and around Ukraine is the most prominent headline around the world. This is not surprising, because everyone is aware, to some degree, that the contents and dimensions of the ongoing battle go far beyond Ukraine itself. The results of the battle even go as far as separating two historical eras.
Although the possibilities are all still feasible, including the prospects for a limited or open war, but what can be confirmed so far is the following:
First: The ongoing crisis and conflict, through the active American incitement, primarily target Russian-European relations. In this sense, Ukraine is just a pretext and a mere tool.
Second: One of the most important targets is the energy relations between Russia and Europe, especially that between Russia and Germany. This constitutes a vexing factor for the Americans within their policies towards Europe and towards the energy lines in worldwide.
Third: Energy relations themselves, are not the full and final goal. These same relations between Russia and Europe, have become a symbol and a key carrier of the entire Eurasian trade lines, together along with the "Belt and Road" as the basis for a geopolitical upheaval in the overall trade, economic, and political relations in the world. An upheaval that ends a long phase during which the kingdoms of the high seas have prevailed, especially Britain and then the US, by partitioning continental forces, and severing communications among continental forces.
Fourth: In other words, the US realizes that the Nordstream 2 launching its operation means closing the loop of the “Belt and Road” and the “Eurasian”, and these starting to operate fully and regularly. This means that the issue of the new international balance and the new division of international labor is no longer a possibility that is being worked on, but rather a reality that gets the US back to its natural size behind the Atlantic.
Fifth: Within this, the “degree of madness” that prompts the US to announce the date of a war between two other countries without the opinion or desire of either of them, reflects primarily the extent of the internal American crisis, especially as we are on the verge of what academia is in agreement of describing as not the next financial collapse, but the next global financial system collapse.
Sixth: The intensity of the ongoing conflict, and even to some extent its madness, reflects an indisputable fact: Russia has no place in the “world imperialist club”, and any illusions or dreams in the minds of the financial elites in Russia itself, related to the attempt to reach an understanding with the West over a new quota, are now evaporating before their eyes. This means that the door is opening more and more to more radical positions, not only in dealing with the US and with external threats to both Russia and China, but primarily in dealing radically with the internal situation in each of them.
Finally: Although this huge fuss has temporarily removed the Syrian file from the forefront of events, in reality it has brought it closer to the final solution. This is because the climax of the escalation at the international level opens the door to major settlements and major resolution operations if not settlements. The Syrian file has been ripe for a long time to move to the stage of a final solution according to UNSC Resolution 2254.
