The Palestinian Lesson

The Palestinian Lesson

Among the many lessons that can be learned from the current Palestinian uprising, it is imperative to consider the following:

First: The changes in the international balance, and the decline of the Western-Zionist center that is hostile to all peoples of the world, alone will not lead to a decisive change in the political realities at the regional and domestic levels. The peoples and their patriotic forces grabbing the initiative is an indispensable factor in shortening the paths of the suffering that oppressed peoples endure, not only in Palestine, but in Syria and in all parts of the world.
Second: The current Palestinian uprising is a milestone for the beginning of a new phase within the waves of the global popular movement, and in our region implicitly, which escalated starting about ten years ago. During the past decade, the West was able (with the help of the security repression that the regimes adopted), using its agents and media, to penetrate the ranks of the popular movement, and actively contribute to the manufacture of terrorism. It was also able to install weak oppositions loyal to it, and Washington, London, Paris and other Western centers of decision even presented themselves as supporters of the peoples of the region against their regimes. By doing that, they were being deceitful and supporting both the regimes and their oppositions enough to perpetuate the clashing and attrition, and destroy the countries. The Palestinian people’s uprising, the insolent positions of the US and the West that are hostile to the uprising and unwaveringly supportive of the criminal Zionist entity, are thunderous slaps on the disgraceful faces of everyone who says that the US and the West in general, with their policies and sanctions, can one day be in the interest of the people. Furthermore, they are a repositioning of the compass of the popular movement by striking any illusions related to the West.
Third: If the Palestinian elections were postponed prior to the uprising, the uprising carried them out on the ground, and the Palestinian people have elected the resistance option instead of the compromising option. Quite possibly, the Oslo regime will be the first Arab regime to be radically and effectively changed by the popular movements, because all that has happened so far, in essence, has not changed any Arab regime.
Fourth: All the normalization processes that took place recently, the aim of which were nothing but to pre-empt what is happening now, have gone unheeded, and to ensure Arab silence about Zionist plans at a critical stage in the region’s history.
Fifth: the Palestinian uprising is a blow to those who exploit slogans, especially those who have turned the Palestinian cause into a veil under which they pass their great corruption and their greedy selfish interests. The uprising reaffirms that the implementation of the patriotic slogan against Zionism, although on the ground in Palestine it takes the form of a direct clash with the Zionist, the form it takes in Syria and in the rest of the Arab countries is a clash with the obvious and covert Zionist agents, whose interests intersect in the end with the great corrupt and warlords who have impoverished their own peoples, drained and weakened them, and weakened the ability of their countries to confront and fight Zionism.
Sixth: In this sense, the current uprising is a milestone for the new wave of the popular movement, one in which the patriotic, the socioeconomic, and the democratic struggles merge, without any separation among them, and without any trading in of one at the expense of the other, as the regimes and oppositions that look like them have done.
Seventh: Every advancement and victory the Palestinian uprising achieves is a direct victory for Syria and the Syrian people, because it is one enemy even if it takes many forms, and all the plans to prolong the crisis and the partitioning plans do not only coincide with the interests of the great corruption within the regime and the opposition, but are in the first place compatible with the interests of Zionism. The blows that the uprising is inflicting on the Zionist entity are blows that directly benefit the Syrian people, and are in the interest of their cause in the comprehensive radical change that re-corrects the Syrian compass towards Jerusalem and towards advocating all just causes in the whole world, starting with the just cause of the Syrian people themselves to live free and dignified.
