Obstructing the Political Solution is a Partitioning Tool
It is no secret that the constant trend in Syria since the outbreak of the crisis to date is the trend of continuous decline and deterioration at all levels, primarily with regards to the humanitarian and living conditions of Syrians in the different parts of Syria, and within a large portion of refugee communities.
It is also no secret that the various kinds of allegations made by the controlling forces in the different parts of Syria, through which they are trying to beautify reality, each in its own area of control, are baseless allegations.
Obstructing the political solution, and the continuation of the crisis situation without a comprehensive solution to reunify the country, would only push matters within the following obvious directions:
First: Obstructing the political solution means continuing to dismember the country, and subsequently it means perpetuating the fait accompli of partitioning. This definitely falls within the Zionist and the American interests. This is evident from the actual US policies that Jeffrey had previously declared, whether with regard to al-Nusra, or “turning Syria into a quagmire”, and last but not least, considering the current stalemate to be precisely the “stability” required by the US. Moreover, the new US bill that was introduced in Congress recently, also unequivocally indicates the push for partitioning Syria between a “Free Syria” and the rest of Syria, using several tools, including selective lifting and tightening of sanctions.
Second: Obstructing the political solution does not mean only the continuation of the sanctions (it should be expected that US sanctions will not be lifted even after the solution, as this is what history lessons prove), but rather the continuation of the dismemberment of the country. It also means the continued control of the great corruption and warlord forces, which have never dealt with Syria, and is not dealing with it now except as a place where they can plunder as much and as soon as possible, regardless of the results.
Third: Obstructing the political solution, means refraining from using the fundamental tool for ending foreign military presence on Syrian soil, and for restoring the full sovereignty of the Syrian people over all their territories, regardless of the slogans raised by the forces obstructing the solution.
Fourth: Obstructing the political solution means continued suppression of Syrians’ opinions, voices, and cries, in the interest of the warlords and the great corrupt forces on all sides; it even means exploiting Syrians’ pain while continuing to forcibly shut them up under the slogan “No sound rises over the sound of the battle”.
Fifth: Obstructing the political solution means continued deterioration of the living conditions of Syrians in all parts of Syria, and within a large portion of refugee communities. This is not only because of the sanctions, but also because the controlling forces have made it sufficiently clear that they are against any change in the general direction of the adopted socio-economic policies, that is, the liberal policies of the West. Quite the contrary, these forces seek to perpetuate and deepen those relations in order to completely finish off the public sector, and Syrians would be left for plundering by the elites at home and abroad.
All of these and other matters are not what will result from obstructing the political solution, but rather what has resulted so far; and the continued obstruction of the political solution, that is, the continued obstruction of the comprehensive implementation of UNSC Resolution 2254, has become more dangerous than being just a narrow political stance for this or that force. In this sense it has become a direct push towards partitioning Syria and ending its geopolitical presence. Therefore, the solution should proceed and as quickly as possible, regardless of the will of the extremists on all sides.
