A Letter to Turkey's Peoples' Democratic Party

A Letter to Turkey's Peoples' Democratic Party

To the Leadership of the Peoples’ Democratic Party

November 4, 2016

The Syrian Opposition People’s Will Party condemns the suppression campaign launched by the Turkish government against some of your Party’s parliamentarians and leaders, including the co-leaders Selahattin Demirtas and Figen Yuksekdag, and their comrades.

This political-police action by Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s government is a reflection of its confusion with regard to the different Turkish domestic and foreign issues, as it lacks the ability to radically relocate its strategic choices, in light of the current changes of the world balance of forces, with which it fits no more neither depending on the NATO/ American alliance that suffers from a crisis and is retreating, nor to continue with any acrobatic playing on  the robes of international conflicts, hoping for realizing regional advantages. This has become crystal clear with the failure of the long-lasting policies of all types and forms of the Turkish government, whether in Syria or in Iraq. It turns similarly evident in the miserable destiny for the different security, military and economic choices by this government, imposed all over Turkey, including the Southeastern areas, in particular.

We are confident that the prison cells wouldn’t be able to undermine the strength of the Peoples’ Democratic Party’s leadership and bases. We believe, as well, that new prospects are being widely opened before all the peoples of our region, through their awareness of the integration of their common interests, away from any form of dependency and hegemony.

On behalf of the

Presidium of the People’s Will Party

Dr. Kadri Jamil
