For the second day in a row, the Zionist enemy continues its aggressive bombing of the Gaza Strip, as well as the terrorizing attacks in multiple areas of the occupied Palestinian territories.
There is no argument that the Palestinian people’s struggle has always been a beacon for all those walking on the paths of freedom and fighting injustice in its local and global dimensions. People’s Will Party’s position regarding the presidential elections scheduled to take place on the 26th of this month can be summarized as follows:
Comments, opinions, and even statements are coming in lately from parties that are contradictory on their face within the “loyalist / opposition” duality, and these comments, opinions, and statements openly intersect and serve each other in the way they consider that the upcoming presidential elections will end UNSC Resolution 2254. They achieve this through either the unfounded claim that these elections will represent implementation of the resolution, or through another allegation that has the same political goal in the end, even if it was disguised with phony words and expressions. The “opposition” claim considers that holding these elections means killing the political solution and Resolution 2254, which implies that the search for a solution should follow a path other than that of the UN Security Council resolution.
Clashes resumed this afternoon in Qamishli after a short truce brokered by Russia. It is not clear how long these clashes will extend. This is despite the efforts made by the residents of the area and the Russian side, to try to stop the clashes immediately.
The 75th anniversary of the evacuation of the last French colonizer’s troops from the Syrian territories comes at a time when the country is going through a very difficult and catastrophic situation on various levels.
The Syrian people, from the dark depths of the crisis, with their hearts exhausted by the pains and wounds of the catastrophic reality in which they and their beloved country are living, look to the memory of the great Evacuation, with hearts full of great hope and unyielding will inspired by the patience, courage, asceticism, and wisdom of the early fathers whose circumstances were no less difficult or cruel: Yusef al-Azma, Sultan Pasha al-Atrash, Saleh al-Ali, Abd al-Rahman al-Shahbandar, Muhammad al-Ashmar, Ibrahim Hananu, Hassan al-Kharrat, Ramadan Pasha Shalash, and Fawzi al-Qawuqji.
Ten years have passed since the Syrian crisis; a whole decade whose effects will not be over in one more decade even if the war has ended and the losses have stopped from today! Economic losses continue, and social losses, despite being difficult to be measured, some of their indicators say that the greatest losses are in the wide social effects that will continue to appear in the future. While the situation of the youth and children today is difficult and dim, their future burdens will be greater, as they will pay twice the price!
Two main issues occupied the first quarter of this year Syria-wise. The first is the collapse of the standard of living of Syrians in all regions of Syria, at an unprecedented level and speed over the past ten years. The second is the attempts to generalize the state of despair with the end of the fifth round of the Constitutional Committee without achieving any progress, and with complete clarity of the intentions of not wanting to make any progress.
